BMC builds its products on an innovative, field proven 'Common Core' hardware design providing consistency and compatibility through all modules and across all platforms. This design contributes to the high reliability and enhanced capability while offering scalability for future upgrades and developments. All BMC boards are available in Commercial or Industrial-ruggedized format.

BMC provides total software support including on board driver software and a full set of Application Interface calls, which are operating system independent.  Powerful libraries allow customers to develop a Databus Analyser.

PROTOCOL
CONVERTERS - UADI - Universal Avionics Design Interface

BMC is a leading developer and manufacturer of Protocol Converters (DPC).  DPC’s are employed when two or more systems operating on different data bus standards (ARINC 429, ARINC 575, ARINC 572, ARINC 615 etc, MIL-STD-1553, STANAG 3838, RS 232-422) need to communicate with each other.  Each converter application is unique, developed to fit a customer's specific requirement.  The conversion applications are fixed format and only the specified translation or conversions are performed.
The Converters perform  general-purpose translation of data with multiple functions such as selectable RT for MIL-STD-1553 Bus Monitor, selectable sub-address for a MIL-STD-1553 RT mode or selectable label for ARINC. The Converter is programmed to ignore other data on the incoming data bus and transmits the converted data through a separate protocol interface.
The UADI is available as a SBC (single board computer) or on a variety of BUS platforms (PCI, CPCI, VME, PC104 & PMC).  The SBC version is also available with a custom box and power supply.

MIL-STD-1553-ARINC 708 Repeater-Splitter
The BMC repeater board is an efficient solution for long connections between devices. The unit automatically recognizes incoming information and retransmits without any delay. The repeater provides two dual redundant channels for full support to MIL-STD-1553 & ARINC 708 requirements.

The MIL-STD-1553 & ARINC 708 standard cable lengths limitations are; 6 (short stub) or 20 feet (long stub). The maximum MIL-STD-1553 cable length is 100 meters. Typically, several devices are connected to a single stub, which can create signal deterioration such that only 10% of the initial transmitted signal is sent to the receiver side.

The BMC Repeater automatically recognizes the signal direction from (or to) the Bus Controller, reconstructs the signal to have the proper width; 1.5uSec for Sync pulse and half a uSEC for data (Manchester Code), then boost the signal with proper voltage and current.

The REPEATER is an intelligent device with a fast and low power RISC processor capable of reconstructing and boosting bi-directional signals on MIL-STD-1553 coaxial cables. The repeater is available as either single or dual channels.  Alternately, the unit can be configured as a splitter.
