The BMC 1553 REPEATER is an intelligent device with a fast and low power RISC processor capable of reconstructing and boosting bidirectional signals on 1553 coaxial cables. The repeater is available as either single or dual 1553 channel. Alternately, the unit can be configured as a splitter. Note that the information coming from a single input can be retransmitted to two different output cables. These configurations are maintained inside the processor and are field programmable. The Repeater board includes RF protection.
The BMC repeater board is an efficient solution for long connections between devices. The unit automatically recognizes incoming information and retransmits without any delay. The repeater has two dual redundant channels for full support of MIL-STD-
1553 requirements.

BMC 1553/1760 Splitter Using this format, the repeater transmits to a common “input” and data is retransmitted through two “outputs”. Each cable is bidirectional so whenever one of the two “outputs” receives data it retransmits to the common “input”. The system constantly tracks signals coming from the three connectors. If the two “outputs” transmit data, the first output cached by the intelligent processor is going to be retransmitted to the
common “input”.

BUS ANALYZER
BMC’s Repeater/Splitter includes a serial port that is used for transmitting analysis. It transmits data at 9,600 Hz baud. Customized software can be implemented in the unit, which can be very useful during fly tests.

BMC offers a customized enclosure in a rugged aluminum case. The enclosure is a slim metal box measuring 9"W x 7"D x 1Ľ"H. Two 1553 Milbus interconnects are available for dual-redundant networks. External DB-9 includes a Serial RS-232 communication for the bus analyzer and for updating the CPU firmware
